The Something New

I remember some time ago the Lord began to highlight the phrase to me, "something new". He confirmed it over and over again in subtle ways like a "Something New" Instagram account with 7777 followers. Then there was the "something new" water bottle that showed up in my kitchen. The "something new" mailer that showed up at my house. Those are just a few examples of dozens of times the Lord highlighted this to me.

Needless to say, I was excited for the new things God was showing me He was going to birth in my life...but then what?

Then...there was the process, the contending, the unknown, the questions, the "when is this going to happen?" I knew God was speaking but I did not have full understanding of the journey He would take me on.

Almost every "something new" that God wants to birth in our life is preceded by a process of refinement, opposition, waiting, and even doubt. There will be critics who question your character and intentions. There will be religious people and spirits who say you are out of order. There will be leaps of faith you have to take that won't make sense to some.

However, something new cannot look like something old. It's a new pathway that's being forged. It's uncharted and unpaved. It's often times in the squeezing, the old doors shutting, and faithful obedience without any signs of fruit that the new comes ushering in.

When we are in the process of birthing a process it’s unseen. Just like when a baby is formed..it's 9 months in the darkness of the womb and an intense, painful labor before we can hold it, touch it, call it by name and cherish it.

Don't abort your "something new" because of the wait, the opposition, the criticism, and maybe even the delay in the fruit. He who promised is faithful and if you press onwards in obedience and faith, one day, when you least expect it, a beautiful new miracle will unfold.

When you see what's required to steward it you'll understand why God took you through this pathway to prepare you. It will all make sense and you will be thankful.

For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NASB
